The Black Swamp Softball League will once again be organizing our summer softball league for players just starting out with 8u coach pitch to the older players in 16u. Our league will be for community-based rec ball teams.  There will be a tournament for each division at the end of the summer league season.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Team registration deadline is March 23, 2025.

 

​MANDATORY COACH MEETING:

Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Diehl Park

   8u & 10u at 5:00pm

   12u & 16u at 6:30pm

AGE GROUP DIVISIONS:

8u - Coach Pitch

​10u - 35' Pitching Distance with 11" Softball

​12u - 40' Pitching Distance

16u - 43' Pitching Distance

​​

SEASON INFORMATION:

Regular Season: May 5 - June 20

​

Games will primarily be scheduled Monday through Thursday.

Fridays and weekends will be reserved for makeup games as needed.

​

Teams will have 12 games scheduled.

No games will be scheduled on Memorial Day.

 

There will be a single elimination league tournament June 22-26, seeded by regular season record.

COST:

League costs consist of league fee + umpire fees.

​

League Fee:

8u (Coach Pitch)

$60 per team

​

10u - 12u - 16u

$125 per team

​

Each team will be responsible for the umpire fees for all games they are listed as the home team, regardless of location.

​

2025 Umpire Fees:

1 Umpire - $75

2 Umpires - $55 each umpire

​

**Umpire fees are to be paid directly to the umpire prior to the start of the game.**

​

Additional Cost:

Official Game Softballs - $70 per dozen

**May be purchased elsewhere, but any softball used must have the ASA/USA stamp.**

RULES:

All age groups will follow USA Softball rules, unless modified.

LOCATIONS:

Every organization will have the opportunity to host games at their "home" location.

Diehl Park in Defiance will be available for any/all teams for games.

 

SANCTION:

This will be a sanctioned league through USA Softball.

The league will sanction all teams, and is included in your team fee.

​

All head coaches are required to complete the ACE training through USA Softball.

All coaches are required to have a current background check and complete the Safe Sport training through USA Softball.  (RegisterUSASoftball.com)

​All coaches are required to be current on concussion training. (available for free through at NFHSLearn.com)

​All coaches are required to be current on Lindsay's Law training.

​

**Copies of all certificates are REQUIRED to be turned in at (or before) the coaches meeting on April 6th.**
